My name is Graciela Bocchi, and I have been living with type 1 diabetes for almost three decades—29 years, to be exact. It began during the pregnancy and birth of my fourth child, when I developed gestational diabetes. At that time, this technology did not exist, and I had to rely entirely on a traditional blood glucose meter, which some families who do not have access to continuous glucose monitoring still depend on today.
What has LinX meant to me? It has brought great peace of mind to me, my family, and my husband. They know that when I travel and stay alone in a hotel, I am protected because I can take preventive action and avoid hypoglycemia—the greatest fear for all of us living with type 1 diabetes.
Today, LinX also enables both my doctor and me to make well-informed decisions. Any adjustment she makes to my treatment during each consultation is based on data rather than perception. This provides greater certainty in diagnosis and treatment, as well as safety and peace of mind.
It has also brought great psychological reassurance to the wider community I currently support as a volunteer leader at Fundación Diabetes Latam, where I help facilitate access to sensors. People living with diabetes, their children, and their parents can all feel happier and more at ease.
Thank you very much, LinX.
Hello, how are you? My name is Francisco Filos. I have been living with diabetes since I was 16 years old. I am currently 23, so I have been living with type 1 diabetes for seven years.
LinX has made an incredible impact on my life, because I know that not only I, but many other people as well, do not like needles or having to prick our fingers up to seven times a day just to know what our glucose level is.
By using the LinX sensor, I can monitor my glucose on my phone whenever I need to, without having to keep pricking my fingers. I can view my history, monitor my range, understand which foods cause my glucose to rise, and which foods help keep it stable. That is how LinX has helped me.
I would like to encourage everyone not to see the condition as something negative, but as a motivation in life. If you can manage your condition, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Thank God I was able to understand this and become stronger. I would also like to express my respect and admiration for everyone living with a condition like this, because it is not easy, and what we do every day deserves great respect and admiration.
Hello, my name is María Isabel, and I am the mother of Isabel Victoria Souza. Isabel Victoria is my little girl, my nine-year-old daughter, who has been living with type 1 diabetes for almost four years. She was diagnosed when she was five.
Isabel is a child who loves to play, run around, and jump, just like any other child her age. However, because of her condition and the decisions we have had to make while managing it, she has had to mature quite a lot. Through it all, as her parents, our goal has always been to give her as much comfort and security as possible throughout every stage of this journey.
For us, LinX is like a guardian available 24/7, constantly providing us with Victoria’s glucose readings. It allows us to make immediate decisions in the event of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia.
Type 1 diabetes is not an easy condition, but with education, we can do everything humanly possible to help our children stay healthy.
It is a constant learning process. We must speak up for our children’s rights, ensure that they have a supportive community, access to all the supplies they need, and proper education so that they can learn how to manage their condition and better control type 1 diabetes.
LinX gives us a great sense of security.
